Location. Location. Location! Every season we look for the perfect spot to film the next season of The Real World. This is one of the first production decisions to be made and it sets the foundation and the tone of the season to come-the location is essentially, the eighth roommate. Think about it-not only have you just been picked to live in a house with seven strangers but in most cases you’ve been picked to live in a new city. The cast has to learn the ins and outs of where they live as much...

The final days in the Real World house are always chaotic and full of emotion.  It is like the end of college spring semester you’re glad it’s finally coming to an end, but you know you’re going to miss it too.  Everyone gets very philosophical about what they’ve learned, and how they’ve changed.  After five and a half months together the roommates have lived through an unusual experience, and will forever share a special bond.

This Wednesday is the thirteenth, and final, episode of The Real World Hollywood.  It’s a funny, entertaining, and emotional goodbye with a surprise visit to the set of Entertainment Tonight, and the roommates’ big improvisational showcase onstage at the IO.  Dave gets into a street brawl, Kimberly faces the toughest test of her life, and Andy Dick comes for dinner!  Are Will and Janelle back together for good?  What is Joey doing back in Chicago?  It’s a full hour to say the least.

No one has heard much from Joey since he left, so we took take a trip to Chicago with the cameras to see what he’s doing.  Joey said he’s maintained a very low profile since returning home; stayed sober and far away from his so-called bad influences.  We worry about him, and want to see what his life is like today.

Chicago is also the home base for the roommate’s Improv teacher, Charna Halpern...

While in Cancun, the roommates took a sailing trip to the Island of Mujeres.  When you arrive, there is a very large circular tank of water alongside the docks where a variety of sharks are on display, including some very large and aggressive bull sharks.  You can stand above the dock and look down at the sharks, or snorkel below the dock and swim around the tank, where you look through holes at the sharks up close as they cruise by.  The roommates all got into snorkel gear and watched the sharks...

Vacations!  Every season on The Real World, the roommates get treated to an amazing vacation.  The trip to Cancun for the Hollywood roommates was no exception:  Parties, sailing, snorkeling, jungle excursions, dolphin swims…every day new activities and new adventures.  Wow, sounds like a great time?  Unless you’re part of the crew!

It’s a tradition on the Real World for the roommates to take a vacation out of the country.  This season we went to Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Mexico, for a wild trip sponsored by Student City Travel.  It turned out to be one of the greatest vacations we’ve ever had on the show.  We saw, and did so...

I know many were shocked by the ending of last week’s episode, when producer Brandon Schantz unexpectedly passed away.  Here’s what we saw from behind the cameras.

We were very fortunate to be able to give Sarah, Nick, and Kimberly an opportunity to test their hosting skills with a brief internship with Movies.com.  Producer Brandon Schantz...

The entire staff has been humming or singing in their heads the song Summertime that Brianna has been recording the past week.  It was written by Matt, who currently plays guitar and tours with Eve6 in addition to starting The Sequel, and produced by Tomas, a producer that Kimberly knew back in South Carolina.

Matt and Tomas really took to Brianna’s voice, and agreed that she had the right qualities for Summertime. Brianna has been given a number of choices via Charna’s...

Finally the connections are coming together for the roommates, and they are getting the opportunity to pursue their career dreams!

Nick, Kimberly, and Sarah are going to get a chance to work as television hosts with an internship with movies.com.  They are going to work with a producer, and each will get to host a movie review segment.

Brianna got a surprise call from Alex Band

The two new roommates arrived (a Real World first) on the same day, only a few hours apart, and it's like we've started all over again.  We did not tell the five original roommates when the new kids were coming, or how many.  But they started to suspect something when they saw the camera people hovering around the front gate on their surveillance monitor.

After all the trials and tribulations with Joey and Greg, it's refreshing to have new roommates in the house.  Nick and Brittini
