What's really odd about all this is that pretty much every major medical, psychiatric, psychological, and scientific association supports a diagnosis/treament/study (you name it) that says SOME people are born with a brain of the opposite sex (verified through dissection, decades of study, psychoanalysis, and case studies) and the recommended treatment is hormones and surgery to FIX that. enkei's statement: Katelyn is not a woman because she cannot conceive or menstruate. Post-menopausal natal females do not mentruate and cannot conceive. Ergo, post-menopausal natal females are not real women. Kat is on estrogen, whereas most women after menopause aren't. Does that make Kat more of a woman than them? Menopause is a very serious issue with a lot of emotional consequences. So is infertility. I have many friends who have dealt with both. I think it's very callous (and wrong) ...... more

grrandram, It sounds like you haven't encountered a gay man before. I know a few, so let me tell you about them. Gay men, they like being MEN a lot. I mean, like a LOT. They like their masculinity so much, they seek it out in their partners. They are kind of not into the whole female thing and there's no way they want to be female.
